2012 Kawasaki KLX250S Review

2012 Kawasaki KLX250S Review
Built for both on-and off-road use, the light and nimble KLX250S is an ideal ride for dual-sporting fun. The rigors of off-road motorcycling dictate additional protection for the exposed underside of the machine, so the KLX250S comes standard with an aluminum engine guard to protect its crankcase during off-road adventures. Negotiating tight terrain also highlights another off-road reality – heat. The 43mm inverted cartridge-style front fork features 16-way adjustable compression damping and 10.0-inches of travel. Strong, 4mm-thick spokes in the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels provide excellent rigidity for enhanced off-road durability. The KLX250S also stops hard, thanks to twin-piston calipers squeezing a 250mm semi-floating petal-shaped disc up front and a 240mm petal-shaped disc at the rear.
The latest and greatest KLX250S features unbelievable off road performance and real KLX heritage making it an awesome on or off road machine.

2010 Honda VFR1200F Specs News and Review

Radical doesn’t begin to describe the all-new 2010 VFR1200F. After they took it for their inaugural spin Cycle World called it “revolutionary.” And while that certainly describes this incredible new machine, it doesn’t begin to do it justice. The list of innovative technology is endless: the layered, MotoGP-inspired bodywork that’s literally fused in seamless perfection for optimal aerodynamics. An all-new, super-compact Unicam® design 1237cc V4 engine, fueled by Honda’s first-ever Throttle By Wire system. Combined Braking with standard ABS.
The most advanced – or controversial – innovation on this upscale bike is its compact transmission that uses two clutches to shift gears, with the ability to do so automatically. As the first of its kind ever put in a motorcycle, it works like those found on F1 race cars, as well as street-going supercars, and even sports cars from the likes of Mitsubishi and VW.
The 1237cc V-4 emits a low-octave purr when fired up, and the 28-degree piston throw produces a sound distinct from previous Honda V-4s. From the side of the road, the exhaust note sounds not unlike a revvier BMW Boxer motor, but once at higher rpm when the exhaust valve opens up, the drone changes to a growl similar to a MotoGP bike.
Engine braking does still exist, so if you do something ham-fisted like drop it in first gear at 60 mph – which is near redline in that gear for this machine – you can expect some protest or sliding at the rear wheel.
The DCT does not have a slipper clutch, and in most cases doesn’t need one. In MT mode as well, the PCM’s precise throttle blips ordinarily keep you out of trouble.
Nor will the PCM allow an over-revving downshift – or upshift for that matter, and will limit over-revs to 10,700 rpm. Riders are therefore encouraged to explore this new kind of motorcycle without fear of breaking something.
The new switchgear does take time to learn, but those clever carriers-on of the spirit of Soichiro Honda have painstakingly thought, and re-thought, and thought some more to make the whole experience as intuitive as they could.

2010 BMW F 800 R Specs News and Review

This is definitely the hottest naked bike generation since the BMW K1300R. After all, a refined 2-cylinder bike like this state-of-the-art roadster is simply sexy: light, stylish, fit. A state-of-the-art product with a totally cool design, the perfect combination of pure riding pleasure with a high degree of suitability for everyday use. A 798 cc 2-cylinder entirely wrapped in black: it doesn’t just look cool, it sounds cool too. And it has pulling power.
The well-known and highly economical parallel twin provides real enjoyment. 63 lb/ft of torque is outstanding in this category – as is 87 bhp.
Especially since it is available within a very practical engine speed range. In other words, this bike offers excellent ridability; and the BMW F 800 R offers a range which will please old hands and newcomers alike. Ergonomics which suit everyone, a firm, stable chassis and a perfectly balanced geometry round off this cool package: great handling for the city and ultra-stable for travelling at higher speeds on country roads.
With this much fun, the optional ABS is a welcome extra too, as are other features such as LED technology, styling parts, various intelligent luggage solutions – and of course the test ride.

2011 MV Agusta F4 1078 RR 312 Edizion Finale Specs News and Review

MV Agusta
has released a special edition F4 in order to celebrate the end of a beautiful and very successful model. Called F4 1078 RR 312 Edizione Finale, this special edition will be limited to only 30 units, each of them marked by their custom quilted leather saddle and special identification plaque.
Can perfection be improved upon? This question has been answered by the new MV Agusta F4, a motorcycle that from the day of its introduction has been judged as the most beautiful motorcycle in the world. The F4 defines beauty.
The new F4 is not an evolution of the previous motorcycle, but it is a new project that has been studied down to the last nut and bolt, from the first to the last curve of the bodywork. No mass produced street motorcycle can boast as many accolades as the MV Agusta F4, which is theabsolute reference for performance, speed and raw beauty. The F4 is the synthesis of Italian craftsmanship, no compromise design principles and the application of the most technologically advanced materials in a single motorcycle. The F4 is a pure two-wheeled work of art.
This special edition is built on the 1078 RR 312 version and comes equipped with a 1078cc engine that delivers an impressive 190 HP and 91.4lb/ft of torque. The motorcycle comes equipped with Brembo Monoblock radial calipers; after all you’ll be needing them as the bike can hit an impressive top speed of 194 mph.
Just as a reminder, back in 2010 MV Agusta revealed another special edition F4. This time is was called "Frecce Tricolori" and was limited to only 11 units.

2012 Kawasaki Z1000 Specs and Review

2012 Kawasaki Z1000
2012 Kawasaki Z1000 ... Over the past few years, the demand for naked sportbikes has continually grown, pushing manufactures into a constant-developing mode, whether its adding power or polishing aesthetics. Noticing this trend, Kawasaki totally revamped its flagship naked sportbike two years ago, the Z1000 getting additional power and a more aggressive makeover.
The heart of every naked bike is its engine, so Kawasaki engineers paid special attention here for 1043cc 16-valve inline four with dual cams. The dual-cam motor features a long stroke of 56mm for instant power, fuel injection and a six-speed transmission. Designed for the real-world streets, 2012 Kawasaki Z1000s engine creates flexible power across the rpm range, with gobs of mid-range.
Completely redesigned two years ago, 2012 Kawasaki Z1000s aggressive bodywork reveals the design teams attention to detail. The aesthetic showcase begins with a low-mount front cowl that slopes back radically, highlighting the Z’s prow and, behind it, an adjustable instrument cluster featuring a multifunction LCD display covered by a trick-looking orange lens. The line-beam headlights guts are integrated nicely into that angled cowl. Moving rearward, you come to a shapely fuel tank that’s flared on the sides to let you grab it with your knees and that’s trim at the back for a snug fit. The seat is low and narrow at the front to make ground contact easy, and flows beautifully rearward to end in a futuristically retro LED tail light behind a red lens. It’s a thoroughly athletic shape, one sure to garner attention wherever it’s ridden.
Suspension at both ends is thoroughly modern and wickedly functional: a beefy, fully adjustable 41mm inverted fork up front and a spring preload and rebound damping adjustable Uni-Trak® shock in back that’s mounted nearly horizontally above the swingarm to shield it from exhaust heat and foster an added degree of mass centralization. Wheel control is simply superb, and the substantial feedback sent to the rider makes it easy to know exactly what’s going on at the bike’s contact patches.
The chassis of the 2012 Kawasaki Z1000 features much technology, including an aluminum frame that cradles the engine from above, a design similar to the ZX-10R superbike. Built from racetrack input, this frame features a skinny mid-section, which provides much feedback to the rider.
There are other features that add to the overall aggression of the Z1000, including five-spoke wheels, shorter, 4-into-2-into-2 exhaust, a solid mount handelbar and aluminum footpegs and ninja-spec brakes.
2012 Kawasaki Z1000

2012 Kawasaki Z1000  Specifications/Technical Details
MSRP Price:
$10,799.00
Engine
  • Liquid-cooled inline-four offers substantial power at all rpm levels, providing effortless acceleration in almost any situation
  • Bore and stroke dimensions of 77.0 x 56.0mm offer the best possible balance of peak power and low and mid-range flexibility
  • 38mm downdraft throttle bodies allow intake air to travel to the engine in the shortest possible distance
  • Oval sub-throttles help keep the engine slim - a good thing since the throttle bodies are positioned between the riders knees
  • Soft rev limiter provides good overrev character; power doesnt drop off suddenly at high rpm
  • The crankshaft is positioned low in the crankcase assembly to allow a longer stroke without adding engine height
  • A secondary balancer, driven off a gear on the sixth web of the crankshaft, eliminates excess vibration
Intake System
  • The intake system routes cool air to the airbox from ducts above the radiator shrouds, minimizing performance loss due to heated intake air
  • Positioning the ducts close to the rider allows the intake sound to be heard - and enjoyed - by the rider
  • A resonator inside the airbox reduces noise at low rpm, and enhances intake sound at high rpm
Exhaust System
  • The exhaust system features a 4-into-2-pre-chamber-into-2 layout. Silencer end caps maintain the quad-style image
  • Main and pre-catalyzers provide cleaner emissions
  • Thanks to the under-engine pre-chamber, silencer volume is reduced, and silencer weight is low. Exhaust system offers excellent mass centralization and contributes to a low center of gravity
Gas Tank
  • Slim-type fuel pump features an integral fuel gauge
  • Fuel tank design and slim-type fuel pump minimize unused volume inside the tank; fuel capacity is 4.0 gallons
Chassis
  • Aluminum backbone frame designed specifically for the Z1000 (and similar in concept to the Ninja ZX-10Rs) helps make the bike narrow and easy to grip with the knees for maximum rider comfort and feedback
  • Lightweight and highly rigid, the frame uses the engine as a stressed member for a firm, planted feeling and enhanced stability
  • Frame is tuned to transmit the ideal level of engine feedback directly to the rider
  • The frames five-piece construction consists of steering stem, left and right main frames, and two cross pieces. The two main frame components have open C-shaped cross sections
  • As much as possible, welds were eliminated for simplicity and appearance. The frame beams and swingarm brackets are now single die-cast pieces
  • The frame uses four engine mounts; three mounts are rigid, while the upper rear crankcase mount is rubber
  • The rear sub-frame is a three-piece aluminum die-casting construction, which is light, strong and optimizes mass centralization
  • The sub-frame is an example of form and function combined, negating the need for side covers and allowing underseat narrowness for a shorter reach to the ground
Suspension
  • Rear suspension design positions the shock unit and linkage above the swingarm where its less exposed to exhaust heat and contributes to mass centralization
  • Visible from the outside, the horizontal monoshock contributes to the Z1000s aggressive appearance
  • Linkage characteristics are the same as those of a standard Uni-Trak® rear suspension: Wheel movement versus shock stroke is the same ratio
  • The shock features stepless rebound damping and spring preload adjustability
  • The Z1000s 41mm inverted fork is adjustable for compression damping, rebound damping and spring preload - and is protected from harm by a cool-looking shroud
  • Settings are designed for both sporty performance and excellent comfort
Controls
  • The tubular handlebar is rigid mounted, contributing to sharp, direct handling
  • A wide, flat bend handlebar offers a design similar to those on off-road bikes for excellent control
  • Tapered-type grips, like those used on supersport models, offer a more direct feel
  • Ninja ZX-10R-style footpegs with knurled surfaces offer good grip, direct feel and control, and no-nonsense looks
  • The passenger footpeg brackets incorporate convenient luggage hooks
Brakes
  • The Z1000s 300mm front petal-style brake discs are gripped by opposed four-piston radial-mount calipers. (Caliper piston size is 4x30 mm)
  • A radial-pump front brake master cylinder contributes to the superb control and feel offered by these high-end calipers
  • The rear brake is a single-piston, pin-slide caliper gripping a 250mm petal-style disc. The caliper is mounted below the swingarm, and located by a torque rod
2012 Kawasaki Z1000 Specs:
  • Engine: Four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, inline-four
  • Displacement: 1043 cc

The system offers a natural throttle feel because the APS is activated by a throttle body pulley connected by cables to the throttle grip. 2012 Piaggio Beverly Sport Touring 350 Review

2012 Piaggio Beverly Sport Touring 350 Review
2012 Piaggio Beverly Sport Touring 350
The range of the Piaggio high wheel best-seller is now enhanced with a new sport model: introducing Beverly SportTouring.

The new Beverly SportTouring is the first scooter to be equipped with ABS/ASR in order to take maximum advantage of performance without ever sacrificing complete safety.
The new SportTouring has a combined braking system or, the first scooter in the world, a built in ABS system with ASR traction control for maximum safety even in emergency and poor grip conditions.
To handle its enhanced performance, the new SportTouring mounts a larger 150/70 rear tyre in order to guarantee the maximum in terms of stability and road holding.

2012 Piaggio Beverly Sport Touring 350 Model Highlights
A new engine: minimum space, maximum performance.
On the Beverly SportTouring the brand new single cylinder 350, 4 stroke, 4 valve, electronic injection and water cooled engine makes its debut - state of the art Piaggio Group technology in scooter engines.
This is an engine designed to provide performance comparable to a 400 cc engine, but with compact dimensions and reduced weight in line with a 300 cc engine.
A special automatic lubrication system guarantees constant cooling of the system in any operating conditions.
Minimum size and maximum performance, for greater savings: thanks to the new engine, the management costs of the Beverly SportTouring are kept at the same level as a 300 scooter, while offering a reduction of maintenance expenses. Once again, the new Beverly SportTourings technology provides agility, efficiency and riding pleasure at the highest levels.
While maintaining the great agility and handling of an urban commuter, the new Beverly SportTouring ensures top-of-the-class road holding, thanks in part to the large wheels with double 5-spoke light alloy rims (16" x 3.00" up front and 14" x 3.50" at the rear) and large tyres (110/70 and 150/70 respectively).
Combined braking, ABS and ASR: powerful and safe in any situation.
In terms of active safety, the new Beverly SportTouring does not shy away from confrontation, thanks to its powerful braking system, at the top of its category. The front brake sports a large 300 mm semi-floating disc, where a 3-piston floating calliper operates, while a 240 mm disc is mounted at the rear. Thanks to the ASR, output power is automatically reduced when the sensors detect imminent skidding of the rear wheel. Even at first glance, the Beverly SportTouring stands out with its smoked windshield which, besides emphasising its sport spirit, improves aerodynamic protection for the rider.

Kymco Venox Review

Here in the U.S., land of free choice, do not really have much choice when it comes to cheap small cruisers. Honda makes their 250 Rebel, and has a price of only $ 3,099. We tested here in 1996, and it has actually decreased in price since then. It basically unchanged since 1985. It a reliable, lightweight motorcycle, but is slow and wobbly and ridiculously tiny. If you are so small that it could be a good choice, but I would stay away from potential riders.

Kymco Venox
Kymco Venox

Yamaha also offers the 250, this is a true V-Twin called the Virago. ("Virago" is a tough, angry woman, so I do not know who is calling and why ..) When the air-cooled V-twin engine and modern (then) design, we drove - and happy - Yamaha 1997.But a wheel is still very small price is $ 3499, and although it is faster than the Rebel, not really blow away: Taming of the Rebel does not ("strange, does not seem shrewish") Virago takes a little over 18 HP to the pavement.

Suzuki also builds a 250cc cruiser, the GZ250. MO has not tested this bike, but it seems a little bigger and heavier than the Rebel and Virago despite the fact that sports just a single cylinder, instead of a twin. It is also priced around $ 3,000 to $ 3,199 mark.

Enter The Dragon. Since 2003, Kwang Yang Motors, Ltd., Taiwan has offered American buyers their Venox 250 cruiser as an alternative to small Japanese cruisers. But the Chinese may be, their bad reputation for bringing affordable quality imitations of Japan to win tenders with the machine more expensive? How does the Kymco cruiser is suitable for use in America?

Kymco is a large motorcycle company located in Taiwan. Since 1963 they have been building and exporting motorcycles and scooters worldwide. Over the last four years they have been selling scooters and motorcycles in the United States.

Kymco Venox

Unlike the myriad of importers bringing in millions of non-Chinese name scooters and motorcycles to sell on eBay and lawnmower shops across the nation, is Kymcos products and customers seriously, with a network of authorized distributors, the support parts, and a two-year warranty. They did not try to compete by discounting; Kymco scooters are priced the same as their Japanese and European competitors.

The Venox Kymco motorcycle is to offer the U.S. market and is also the largest motorcycle they make worldwide. It uses a very modern, liquid-cooled, dual overhead cam eight-valve engine with a square bore and stroke 58 mm x 47.2. With 11.5:1 compression, makes Venox motor 28 HP: much more than the Japanese 250cc cruisers do.

Kymco Venox

-Cylinder 247cc motor is hung on a steel tube frame reminiscent of the late 80s Honda Magna, a perfect staggered mufflers, solid disc rear wheel. It looks like the Asian market Honda Magna 250, but a careful examination reveals significant differences: the Honda engine is above the lighter square, with a wheelbase shorter. The fuel tank is below. It can Kymco makes the Magna for Honda, which does not allow you to build a set of components and the entire motorcycle Japanese companies, but Venox is a product designed and built Kymco.

In fact, Kymco hired German firm Naumann design the shape and style of this small car, explaining its European sophisticated look. Naumann also designed the elegant MZ 1000S and Honda projects and Audi. It is a bold step for a density and a commitment to producing advanced products. Do not be resigned to producing cheap copies of existing motorcycles and scooters.

The style is so surprising that people standing in the street and traffic lights, demanding to know who makes this distinctive-looking machine. Kymco adds to the confusion by leaving the logos on the bike for most. The tank is undecorated, and there is one and easy to remove "Kymco" decal on the front triple clamp for fans to know who made the bike. That would be fun to tell people its a prototype mini V-Rod, but the Harley people have spies everywhere, so I tell the truth.

When examined closely, this bike is world class in terms of build quality and fit and finish. Everything is set up as well. The controls, levers and switches work well and are strong. The pods are shaped and polished without metal. No squeaks or rattles, and everything works as it should, without the shameful parts, and components do not match a rider can be found in some Chinese brands. Now that is a V-Rod!

Kymco Venox

In terms of features and other details, Venox is fairly rudimentary. There is a light beam, but the clock. You get the passenger foot pegs and a support strap, but no tachometer. There is a counter, but no temperature gauge, but only one signal lamp at high temperatures. The key is nice, with a Kymco logo and "Venox" printed on it. The Venox has all the features you need or expect of a small cruise.

It is an ugly little with the long, skinny frame down tubes, and exposed in front of the radiator, but a big fork and a slick chrome tank surrounds the balance that out. Shock chrome, and Fat Boy-style solid rear wheel to return at the end of the muscle, the muscular appearance. The seat is low, 27.5, "said saddle height, but may not be low enough for a very short riders. Reseller relationships are easy to shave the sides of the seat down to facilitate micro drivers to get their small feet on the ground.

The brakes are another nice surprise. Although only a single front disc is a twin-piston caliper with a brake pressure steel braided. Hes feeling very nice to him and slows the bike as much as you want. The rear drum is cheaper, which took some trampled to lock. This may be due to fat and Maxxis tires stick with a classic 150-section in the back as a mid-size cruiser.

Kymco Venox

Jumping aboard, the driver is greeted with a seating support plane and the pilot pin and controls that are in front of the pilot, but so far they are sitting feel strange or uncomfortable. After playing "Wheres the fire?" For a moment, you can change the button and fire the little V-twin.

This bike comes to life with great clamor career certainly not run-of-the-mill 250cc cruiser motor! I asked Curtis Fisher, co-owner of Mid-America Power Sports as well as the Kansas City area Kymco dealer, why cycling is so strong. He said he had taken "four rivets in the calm eye, pull [ed] in the chicanes, [and] cut 2 inches off the deck." Modification of any net increase in power, but come alive with the sound and is essentially free, apart from the cost of the rivets. You can hear in the video clip. A balance of Venox is very quiet.

Kymco Venox

The cruiser was definitely feels bigger than a 250 cruiser usually. It has a large weight and a quality, solid feel to it. The brake and clutch are not adjustable: not so good for small hands. And 418.5 pounds * Dry weight is claimed a good deal heavier than the competition too.

But if I may a little editorial here, I do not think should be the first motorcycle a moped pen. I think a motorcyclist should be properly trained before she bought her first bike. I have seen many 200-pound scooters wrecked with less than 500 miles on them. Just having a light bike is not an excuse to start riding without training and with proper training of a 400-pound motorcycle should not feel overwhelming.

Even with all that weight, 28HP motor pulls the bike Venox has a stop very well, no problems with the clutch and smooth power delivery and progressive. The gearbox works well, and the city speeds, the brakes are more than adequate, with a good impression on the lever forward and dive at least the beefy front forks. The two shocks in the back looked very good in their chrome covers but have little travel and little damping. They help provide the experience of large cruise through the transmission of jabs to the riders rump and kidneys.

Now we get onto the freeway where I want to answer the question of potential buyers want to know: this thing has enough power to safely monitor the traffic? She is my wife end up in Winnebago hood ornament if I have one of these things himself? Well, fear not, because I liked the gas on I-435 until the small wheel to speed up, trying to keep Curtis on his MZ 1000S, which he did not ride with the flow of traffic. Well, not the flow of traffic in Kansas City. The flow of traffic in Los Angeles, yes.

250 has continued to grow past 90 MPH (indicated) on flat ground, and looked like it would go if I had enough space, re-baffled exhausts making a very cool micro-Ducati sound behind me as the engine approached the 10000 - rpm rev limit. Twenty-eight power is what makes the Ninja 250, and are good for about 100 MPH. Of course, they weigh about 80 pounds less, so shave 10 MPH off of this, and expect to reach that speed much slower than the Ninja with friends. Those of you, more than 180 pounds can have a different experience, of course!

At high speeds, it feels very stable Venox. The solid rear wheels do not seem affected by crosswind. Freeway cruising is for when some small engines hard work, vibration can quickly turn a trip to a chore. The Venox is certainly hard work, but he takes it in stride with Jack Lalanne-like stoicism. The vibrations are there, but it is not offensive. Protection against wind, of course, minimal, but the positive attitude does not put the driver in play mode, so windblast is manageable.

Kymco Venox
Kymco Venox

However, this bike is about cruising speed of no more road works, so how do you cross? In a winding road, this bike does not really shine. The Venox likes to ride as any small displacement motorcycles, the engine of Sorrows, near the rev limiter, keeping corner speeds up. Ground clearance is acceptable for a cruise, at least as good or better than the Suzuki Boulevard M50, Honda VTX1800, or other cruisers Ive ridden recently.

One of the best features of the Venox is that looks and feels like a much bigger bike. The long wheelbase, chassis, wide handlebars, solid and decent brakes and suspension are in addition to a fun ride. It lacks the fluttery feeling, light tomboy, or Rebel in volume and longer wheelbase. Do not allow the chassis or the wheel or fork flex as you would on some cruises, and not enough ground clearance so you can throw in enough depth if you want to.I knoow owners Venox potential may not have the representation track for the first time in the lists of important features, but its good to have a bike to feel safe and confident in all types of driving situations.

At the end of my test circuit of 80 miles, which had chased Curtis and local twisty roads, walked many miles from the interstate, and ridden through the streets with potholes, bumps in Kansas City. I never felt the bike bit sloppy in a practical way in the city or on twisty roads, though personally I like a lot more power on the road. But judging how to drive in most regions of the country, 80 MPH is fine, and light weight, good handling, versatile little bike all you need. With a two-year warranty (which Curtis maintains he never made a claim Venox) and a lower price $ 3999 of income, Venox is an incredible value, both as the cycle of a lot of us would ever need or want.

Triumph Trophy SE New Nice Photos And Review 2013

Triumph Trophy SE 20132013 Triumph Trophy (SE)- For the 2012 style period, Be successful released a system that would go head-to-head with the BMW R 1200 GS, the manufacturer from Hinkley releasing the Competitors Visitor. Powered by a 1215cc inline three, the Visitor quickly became the greatest displacement Encounter bike available on the market, beating the BMW R 1200 GS by a few ccs. And for 2013, Be successful seems to be once again going head-to-head with the Bavarian manufacturer, but now in the high-class activity viewing classification. Triumph’s latest style, the Prize, seems to be directed at BMW’s uber-luxurious and impressive activity tourers, the K 1600 GT and the K 1600 GTL.The Trophy, which is only available as the Trophy SE in the states, the SE featuring electronically adjustable suspension and a sophisticated audio system, features the same 1215cc engine as the Explorer, but tuned for better street manners. The liquid-cooled, 12-valve DOHC engine features ride-by-wire electronics, and produces 132 horsepower @ 8900 rpm (for comparison, BMW’s K 1600 GT & GTL produce 160 horsepower), and 89 ft. lbs. of torque @ 6450 rpm. And just like the BMW K 1600 GT and GTL models, the Triumph Trophy hooks this power to a six-speed transmission and final shaft drive.
