2010 Honda VFR1200F Specs News and Review

Radical doesn’t begin to describe the all-new 2010 VFR1200F. After they took it for their inaugural spin Cycle World called it “revolutionary.” And while that certainly describes this incredible new machine, it doesn’t begin to do it justice. The list of innovative technology is endless: the layered, MotoGP-inspired bodywork that’s literally fused in seamless perfection for optimal aerodynamics. An all-new, super-compact Unicam® design 1237cc V4 engine, fueled by Honda’s first-ever Throttle By Wire system. Combined Braking with standard ABS.
The most advanced – or controversial – innovation on this upscale bike is its compact transmission that uses two clutches to shift gears, with the ability to do so automatically. As the first of its kind ever put in a motorcycle, it works like those found on F1 race cars, as well as street-going supercars, and even sports cars from the likes of Mitsubishi and VW.
The 1237cc V-4 emits a low-octave purr when fired up, and the 28-degree piston throw produces a sound distinct from previous Honda V-4s. From the side of the road, the exhaust note sounds not unlike a revvier BMW Boxer motor, but once at higher rpm when the exhaust valve opens up, the drone changes to a growl similar to a MotoGP bike.
Engine braking does still exist, so if you do something ham-fisted like drop it in first gear at 60 mph – which is near redline in that gear for this machine – you can expect some protest or sliding at the rear wheel.
The DCT does not have a slipper clutch, and in most cases doesn’t need one. In MT mode as well, the PCM’s precise throttle blips ordinarily keep you out of trouble.
Nor will the PCM allow an over-revving downshift – or upshift for that matter, and will limit over-revs to 10,700 rpm. Riders are therefore encouraged to explore this new kind of motorcycle without fear of breaking something.
The new switchgear does take time to learn, but those clever carriers-on of the spirit of Soichiro Honda have painstakingly thought, and re-thought, and thought some more to make the whole experience as intuitive as they could.

YAMAHA VIXION MODIFY STYLE 2010

Clothes glow in the dark are common. However, if it is a motorcycle, then a special result, especially in Pontianak, West Borneo. It’s like that done by Hendry from home modifications Dr X on Yamaha V-Ixion 2009 with a body that has been modified. When passed in the darkness, body type motor sport tuning fork bearing caused a light.

“Probably the first bike in Pontianak that uses phosphorus paint,” Hendry said proudly. To create light effects, he said it was not too much trouble. Only the phosphor powder mixed into the paint.

The process begins with a white primer, then given the next layer of white paint that is already mixed phosphorus. “After that, new in-airbrush. For the final stage, then given a layer of varnish,” abah said, Hendry close calls. He admitted using phosphorous paint because it does not need special treatment and more stylish without any trouble.

Capital is less shiny paint sip without changes to the body followed. In the model and design, this bike looks fit and harmonious. That said, this detail has become the most powerful influence of the whole motor. “Made of fiber, while the tank is only the original part”.

Because the model attracted sporty (racing), then the stern pointed contrived. So is the seat, re-designed racing style. “So, who will ride on a bicycle wrote sorry, yes i don’t can,” Hendry smile.

In fact, on the surface of the seat of the independent logo etched, which also became a symbol of his shop. Nah just there. Coat was also found in the triangle above the front suspension and rear part of sepatbor. Views become more alive because of wheel and engine in blue paint.

Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO 2010

A new super-light dry weight of 172kg (379lb) and an increase of power to 95hp is the result of an intense program of redesigns and refinements intended to be the evolution of the Hypermotard.

Continued chassis development to the Hypermotard resulted in an improved frame layout which eliminated almost all of the heavier forged elements used on the previous model. The new rigidly triangulated Trellis frame and track-tested chassis geometry is matched by a state-of-the-art suspension. 50mm Marzocchi forks are gripped by a sturdy triple screw lower fork clamp for precise steering performance. These forks work as impressively as they look, with special high rigidity stainless steel sliders and external adjustability for compression and rebound damping, plus spring pre-load. The rear suspension performs with equal precision by using a fully adjustable ZF Sachs shock mounted to a robust single-sided swingarm.

2010 Toyota Prius Brake fix and radar cruise

On February 9, 2010, Toyota announced a voluntary global recall of third generation 2010 Prius models manufactured from the current models introduction through late January.

Affected models, including 133,000 Prius vehicles in the U.S. and 52,000 in Europe, are to receive an anti-lock brake software update to fix brake response over rough roads, following reports of delayed braking response on certain surface conditions.Apple co-founder and Prius collector Steve Wozniak was also quoted by media outlets regarding a possible cruise control issue on one of his several Priuses, where the steps for "upping the speed" using the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control system allegedly caused unintended acceleration.
Wozniak later maintained that he was misquoted, but did have an individual vehicle and customer service issue, while auto journalists and other Prius drivers suggested user error.

Features/Benefits

Engine/Drivetrain

Light and compact 1,237 cc liquid-cooled 76-degree V-4 engine pumps out amazing levels of power with a distinctive feel and sound.

By combining many of Hondas most advanced technologies, engineers managed to create a remarkably compact engine thats both smaller and lighter than the V-4 engine in the VFR800A.

Unique cylinder layout locates the rear cylinders side by side but close together, and the front cylinders more widely spaced. This layout allows for a slim, compact "waist" that fits comfortably between the riders legs. It also improves mass centralization, thereby contributing to the bikes balanced feel and ease of control.

The engine also incorporates a special high-strength Symmetrically Coupled Phase-shift Crankshaft that features a 28-degree crankpin offset that works in concert with the 76-degree V angle to essentially negate primary engine vibration for smooth running. And because the powerplant now has perfect primary balance, the need for a balance shaft is eliminated, which allows for a more compact engine and also yields a weight savings of nearly 1.4 kg (3 lb) .

Lightweight and compact Unicam™ valve train allows for significantly shorter and smaller cylinder heads with no loss in efficiency. Its the same technology used in Hondas potent CRF motocross bikes.

Also borrowed from the CRF range and the RC211V MotoGP bike is the sealed crankcase system that reduces the pumping loss created through piston movement, marking the first time this system has been used on a street motorcycle.

The new engines performance is delivered where its most useful and most enjoyable. Its linear torque curve is focused in the low-end and midrange, making it possible for the rider to simply roll on and off the throttle while powering through bends. This effortless control makes the VFR1200FA great fun to ride - this is a sportbike with real-world-usable power.

Asymmetrical exhaust lengths between front and rear cylinders further improve power output and add to the VFR1200FAs unique sound and feel.

Engineered to provide excellent cornering clearance and minimal intrusion to the feet of the rider and passenger, the high-volume, twin-outlet muffler produces an unobtrusive but fantastically stirring note. At low revs the sound is almost like a human heartbeat. Further up the rev range, once the internal servo-operated exhaust valve is opened, the sound changes to a truly inspiring, hard-edged V-4 howl.

A throttle-by-wire system replaces the throttle cable with sophisticated electronics. It provides light, precise fuel metering at all engine rpm, the systems accuracy gives the rider increased levels of control.

The Dual Clutch Transmission includes two automatic modes and a manual mode with paddle-style shifters, and is similar to systems found on high-end sports cars. Its mechanical efficiency matches that of a manual gearbox, meaning you get to enjoy the convenience of an automatic with the unbridled performance of a manual.

The next-generation shaft-drive system routes the shaft below the swingarm pivot point to eliminate the squat and lift of conventional shaft drives without resorting to complex and heavy countermeasures as found on some competing models. Special dampers eliminate any excessive slack or jerkiness in the system, resulting in smooth on- and off-throttle transitions.

Chassis/Suspension

The patented layered fairing design creates a uniquely beautiful shape and, at the same time, optimal airflow and heat management. The fairing incorporates two layers. Air entering between the layers and through two oval-shaped spaces in the front of the fairing is channelled in exactly the directions needed to enhance the bikes stability at higher speeds. Plus, by channelling air through smaller apertures before it reaches the radiators and thereby increasing its velocity, engine cooling is optimized and the hot, exhausted air is carried quickly away from the rider and passenger for a cooler, more comfortable ride. The heat generated by the engine is also channelled away to keep hot air away from the rider.Honda Pro-Arm single-side swingarm with single gas-charged shock features a handy remote spring-preload adjuster, rebound damping adjustability, and 130 mm (5.1 inches) of travel. At the front the VFR1200FA boasts a stout, sport-oriented 43 mm inverted cartridge fork with spring preload adjustability and 120 mm (4.7 inches) of travel. The VFR1200FA is equipped with a sophisticated braking system thats ideal for all-round sportbike use. Powerful new six-piston calipers for the front and a two-piston caliper at the rear act on large full-floating discs (320 mm front; 276 mm rear). Hondas Combined Braking System creates the optimal balance of front and rear braking forces, while the compact and lightweight Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) lets you brake with confidence on even difficult surfaces.Additional Features

New-technology seat construction permits a higher level of seat shaping and forming detail for excellent rider and passenger comfort and a sleek look.Integral saddlebag mounts come standard on both versions of the VFR1200FA.New painting technologies, specially developed at Hondas new high-tech Kumamoto factory, result in a level of finish far above normal production standards .The handlebar and the layout of the controls are the result of careful study of ergonomics and rider needs. The designers looked at the time required to reach controls comfortably and the ease of operation- particularly during cornering. As a result, the VFR1200FA has new handlebar switches and a new layout with reversed horn and indicator controls. The indicator switch shape is designed around natural thumb movement for effortless operation.
